Session Information
Start of Shift (SoS) was developed in response to challenges raised by staff in preparing ambulances at the start of operational shifts.
A five-day rapid improvement event at St Helier enabled frontline teams to design, test, and implement changes, reducing SoS time from an average of 31 minutes to 16 minutes at 120 days.
The initiative was then rolled out across 19 sites using a two-day format, achieving an average reduction from 26 to 18.4 minutes.
Staff confidence increased from 2.9/4 to 3.6/4, and 92% were keen to join future improvement events.
